First Landing State Park Engagement Session
Let me start off by saying this…Jen and Matt you guys are troopers and you rocked your session even when the elements were against you!
I can’t speak enough of these two! We first met them at a Starbucks when they were meeting with wedding vendors and searching out a wedding photographer! Matt’s parents were there as well and they were just the nicest people! We had are kids with us that day and little Gabriel woke up right as we were walking up to them. Of course, in Gabriel fashion, he was absolutely grumpy but these two were so gracious! We even joked about it during their engagement session!!
After they booked us (I’m still gushing over they fact that we get to photograph their Ford’s Colony wedding next year!) we began planning their engagement session!
Jen and Matt settled on a beach location and First Landing was their top choice!
A Little Bit About These Two
Jen and Matt met at work. Jen was his trainer and they spent a lot of their time together chatting and getting to know one another. After about five months, Matt asked her out to dinner and it was, in Jen’s own words. “the best and last first date she ever had!”
These two are my kind of couple because they love to eat (especially if it’s a new place) AND they are Harry Potter fans! Once Jen told me that, they got instance friend status!!
One of the things I loved most about Jen and Matt’s love story is how Matt proposed! He went big, you guys!
Matt planned the proposal in secret while they were on a CRUISE! He set up a session with a photographer and timed it so that the special moment was caught right at sunset!! Matt is one thoughtful groom and Jen…you are oh so loved by him!
Michael and I are beyond blessed to be able to capture their wedding day! April 21st can’t get here soon enough! In the meantime, we will swoon over their gorgeous engagement images!
P.S. The session started out a little windy but as we moved towards the end of their session, it felt like we walked into the polar ice caps! But you know what, they stayed upbeat the whole time! By the end, none of us could feel our hands but it was totally worth it!

Okay, so they seriously killed their walking shots! Jen looks like she walking out of a magazine!
Here is the moment during their session where we the temperature dropped so fast and the wind was blowing in all directions! No matter though, they still looked amazing!
