First Hair Cut at Pigtails & Crewcuts
We postponed for this moment for a long time! Like most parents, we typically wait until their first birthday to give them their first hair cut. With Gabriel, his hair was so thin and curly that we didn’t see a need just yet. And besides, it looked so cute!
Fast forward a few months, and Gabriel’s hair started growing so inconsistently and it constantly looked a mess! We still didn’t want to cut his hair because, this time, we weren’t ready for our “little boy” to get a “big boy” hair cut!!! We were also afraid that Gabriel would just have an all out fit in the barber chair! (You see, Gaby started his terrible twos at age 1)
Then there was the question of WHO and WHERE! Who in this world can cut a squirmy 18 month old toddler’s hair and make it look at least half descent??! Well….on my way home one day, I drove past a sign for a kids hair salon. It’s called Pigtails & Crewcuts. I had never heard of it before so I looked it up as soon as I got home and the photos of the inside alone made me want to go there immediately! It was so bright, vibrant, and oh so kid friendly. The salon chairs were in the shape of airplanes and cars, and little bitty trucks!
So we made an appointment. We hardly had to wait a long time once we got there. But as we waited for that short time for our name to be called, there was an amazing play area were Gabriel, and our other two littles, could play, color, and watch a little movie. I think it really helped Gabriel become more comfortable in that new setting.
Our Turn!
When it was finally our time, Gabriel got an awesome hair cut with NO FUSS, and it was literally less than 15 minutes!!! We absolutely enjoyed every minute of the experience they gave us! Gabriel’s stylist was patient and always anticipated him moving around so it really didn’t affect his cut AT ALL! The price was a little higher than other barber shops, but for the experience and the peace of mind knowing that your little one is comfortable and entertained, it was well worth it.
