Nick & Charis | Maymont Engagement in Richmond Va

Maymont Engagement Session

“Young Love. Beautiful Love. Deep Love”. That’s what comes to my mind when I think of Nick and Charis. They are both so kind and their engagement session really spoke of the love their share and the fun they have together. Charis settled on Maymont for their engagement location because it is a garden she frequents often and she’s very knowledgeable of flowers! I had never been to Maymont so naturally I didn’t know what to expect. Let me tell you this though, if you’ve never been to Maymont you need to go! It’s so scenic and quiet and I too am a lover of flowers and nature! I plan on taking Michael and the kids there soon.

Nick and Charis went to the same high school together and later on they both attended Virginia Tech. It was there where they began their relationship! Nick proposed to Charis in a garden similar to Maymont with all of her family present (can you say romantic!). I absolutely love their love story!
But honestly, this engagement session almost didn’t happen because of the weather. It was gray and gloomy and it rains a little on and off. Charis really wanted a bright sunny day but we both decided to just go for it and I am SO glad we did. Even though it was and overcast day, it was still fairly bright and not dark and gloomy like most overcast days! Maymont provided us plenty of open space which is exactly what we need when photographing on an overcast day!

Their session ended up being one for the books! They nailed every pose and looked so natural in every photo! I am so honored that they chose us to be their photographers and we can’t wait to photograph them again in May when they both say “I Do”
